NILAI GOTONG ROYONG DALAM UPACARA BEGAWI ADAT CAKAK PEPADUN DI KAMPUNG MATARAM ILIR KECAMATAN SEPUTIH SURABAYA KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TENGAH

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze: 1) Begawi Adat Cakak Pepadun Ceremony at Mataram Ilir Village, Seputih Surabaya District, Central Lampung Regency; 2) Implementation Stage of the Begawi Adat Cakak Pepadun Ceremony at Mataram Ilir Village, Seputih Surabaya District, Central Lampung Regency; 3) The value of mutual cooperation in the Begawi Adat Cakak Pepadun Ceremony at Mataram Ilir Village, Seputih Surabaya District, Central Lampung Regency; and 4) Efforts to preserve the value of mutual cooperation in the Begawi Adat Cakak Pepadun Ceremony at Mataram Ilir Village, Seputih Surabaya District, Central Lampung Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data in the form of informants and documents. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study show that the Begawi Adat Cakak Pepadun Ceremony is a traditional Lampung title transition ceremony whose implementation stage consists of nine stages, namely: 1) Nyuwak Ghuppek; 2) Turun peserah; 3) Ngedio Mandaikan Rasan; 4) Cangget; 5) Turun Mandei; 6) Beseghak Baseh; 7) Mepadun; 8) Mengan Utak; and 9) Ngedio Peghadeu Rasan. These stages contain the value of gotong royong which is upheld in the process of preparation, implementation and post implementation. This is done not solely because Gawi is a major traditional ceremony, but also as a manifestation of one of the elements of Piil Pesenggiri, namely Sakai Sambaian as well as Pancasila. The existence of the mutual cooperation value requires efforts to be preserved, so that the younger generation introduces and familiarizes mutual cooperation activities with the involvement of youngsters in various events, imposes customary fines for those who do not practice them and follows and takes advantage of the times without losing the essence of the mutual cooperation value
